WikiAssam:Guidelines
From WikiAssam
RaizKoox is the result of an ongoing collaborative effort. To produce something that is useful we will have to adopt some guidelines. Note that these guidelines are meant not to cramp your style, but to make collection of information and resolution of disputes more efficient. These are the guidelines we try to follow while going about the tasks on hand.
Articles
- Please seriously consider adopting a user name and logging in under that name. The name could be your first name, or it could be a creative adopted name. This is not mandatory, of course, but a user name affords advantages to both the sysops and you. All contributions will be attributed to you and you alone and not to an IP address, even if you edit from different computers on the internet. It will protect your IP address and provide you with some privacy. If you provide an e-mail address, other users may get in touch with you for urgent matters. Your e-mail address will remain secret, and even the Sysop has no means of knowing it.
- Contributions should be informative and educational.
- The articles should strictly follow a neutral point of view (NPOV). NPOV does not strictly mean objectivity. It means accommodating the opposite view. You are free to give your opinions, but you should be able to state the opposite opinion too. In other words, as you state your opinion, make sure the text leaves space for an alternative opinion to be easily inserted. Articles should, ideally, tend to minimum bias.
- Follow the principles of Wikipedia etiquette (wikiquette). It is important to remember to respect other people. When in doubt, please go through the principles again. They have worked miraculously elsewhere, and it will be a shame if they did not on WikiAssam.
- Please do not include copyrighted material in WikiAssam without permission. If discovered, the material will be deleted. Users who come across copyrighted material should alert Sysops. Attribute sources.
- Include references and external links at the bottom of the page.
Discussions
While making notes on the discussion pages, follow the convention:
- Please sign your notes with either three or four tildas (~). Three tildas will translate into your username , linked to your user page. Four tildas will add the date-time stamp.
