Food/Bugs
From WikiAssam
There are a lot of bugs that people eat in Assam.
- We-Chiringa
- They are arboreal and during summer, when the rain is over, they come out at night wherever there is light. Very tasty! [PD]
- Eri Polu
- I think this is the most delicious of all! I wonder how it converts the bitter castor leaves (they will eat those leaves only) into such delicacy. [PD]
- Borolor Top
- I mean the eggs of wasp, not all wasp. We call it tiger wasp locally. They are tasty too.[PD]
- Kerpa Poka
- They live in water and have a very pungent odour. But tasty when fried or roasted. [PD]
- Bagh Mokora
- A colourful spider. It has a good taste, but has the chance of getting stung while hunting.[PD]
- Kol Pok
- I mean banana bug. They generally live in banana trees or under thatched roofs. They come out and fly around in the evening. Harmless, does not bite you. Puri khaboloi bhaal. [PD]
- Ant eggs
- There are some ants whose eggs are very tasty. You are on for a real good treat while cleaning jungles where they nest. Collect the nests, check it for yourself! [PD]
