Buranji

From WikiAssam

Buranjis are historical chronicles. The custom was introduced by the Ahoms in the 13th century, and was adopted by others too in Assam. The earlier Ahom Buranjis were written in the Tai language, whereas the later ones were written in Assamese. This custom of written chronicles is unique in India and is the source of much information about the Ahoms and other rulers of Assam.
