Biography
Dr. Moidul Islam Bora was born in Jengonikotiyaa Village in Sibsagar (Xiboxaagor) in 1899. His parents were Meheruddin and Begmondol Bibi. Dr. Bora died at the age of 45 in 1944 in the City of Lucknow while attending a conference.

Work
Dr. Bora was a professor of French at Dacca University for five years starting from 1923. In 1928, he moved to London to pursue a Ph.D. in the "School of Oriental Studies" of the University of London. After finishing his Ph.D. thesis, he returned to teach at Dacca University and became the Chair of the Department of Urdu and Farsi at the young age of 35.
