The Anti-Foreigner Movement was a popular agitational movement in Assam that demanded the Government of India identified and deported foreigners that the movement leaders claimed were inundating the state of Assam. This claim was based on a census report from a few years ago. The movement was lead by the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and the All Assam Gana Sangram Parishad (AAGSP). The agitational programs began in 1979 and ended in 1985 with the signing of the Assam Accord
