WikiAssam:Appeal

(Redirected from Appeal)

We are beginning, on an experimental basis, a public and open encyclopedia on Assam called RaizKoox. This is in the style of the well known internet open encyclopedia -- the Wikipedia -- based on the Wiki concept.

The aim of this project is to collect and collate information about the people and land of Assam. Very often we have been frustrated while looking up information on Assam. It could be something as simple as : which year did Srimanta Sankardev die? Or,in which year did Lacit Borphukan defeat the Mughals. Or what is Lakhinath Bezbaruah's oeuvre? Is tamul bettle nut or areca nut? Who are the Borahis? What is the original name of Tinsukia? Who had the Dighalipukhuri dug in Guwahati? What are the findings of the Ambari excavations? What is the Da Porbotia? How can I make khorisa in North America?

So on and so forth.

No one on the internet can provide this information, except us. And this is where RaizKoox comes in. The information in it will be put in by the general raiz. If you did some research on a subject, any subject, and you would like to share -- please consider putting it on RaizKoox for the benefit of others. Someday you too will benefit from the generosity of others. If you think you can add to contributions by others, you may do so. If you think the article does not look good, you may reformat it to look better. If you notice a spelling mistake, you may correct it. If you have a picture that goes well with an article, you may upload it.

In other words, RaizKoox will be the product of a collaborative effort of the entire community. We should be aware that in this collaboration there could be differences. Therefore, we will have to frequently come to a NPOV (neutral point of view) to resolve our differences. RaizKoox has facilities to discuss individual pages, so that differences could be sorted out. But we should not let the fear of differences from undertaking this project -- a project from which we may benefit much.

This is an appeal to you, raiz, to contribute to this project.
