Ananta Kandali

Ananta Kandali [Kondoli (1520-)] was a famous poet of the 16th Century, A.D., Ananta Kondoli was a contemporary of Sri Sri Sankardew.

Biography

He was born in circa 1520 in the town of Hajo.

Work

Books

He wrote the following books: Kumaarhoron, Brittaxur Bodh, Mohiraabon Bodh, and Xitaar Paataal Probex. He is known for translating the Ramayan into Assamese. Being influenced by Sri Sri Sankardew, he translated the middle and the end portions of the Doxom (tenth volume of the Bhagavat) into Assamese.
